This apprenticeship will train you to optimise property condition and quality and to ensure buildings are kept in a safe working condition, providing maximum satisfaction to customers, clients, guests, and their teams. Working alongside fully trained operatives, you will be mentored, enabling you to gain the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed for a successful career in the industry.
What experience and skills will you gain?
During this apprenticeship, you will develop a broad range of essential property maintenance skills, including:
- Health and Safety: Understanding and adhering to safety regulations in the workplace.
- Carpentry and Joinery: Basic skills for repairing and maintaining wooden structures.
- Plumbing: Carrying out simple plumbing repairs and maintenance.
- Plastering: Repairing and applying plaster to walls and ceilings.
- Brick and Block Work: Basic brick and blockwork repair and maintenance.
- External Works: Maintaining and repairing external features like drainage, brickwork, and fencing.
- Finishing Trades: Tiling, painting, and decorating skills for interior and exterior surfaces.
- Electrical Testing and Repairs
- Maintain heating ventilation and air conditioning plant
- Internal and external building fabric maintenance
- Problem-solving: Diagnosing and fixing maintenance issues.
- Communication: Interacting with other maintenance staff, tradespeople, landlords, and building occupants.

What do you need to apply?
You will be expected to have at least 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above, including English, Maths and Science, and Maths at Grade 4 or above (or their equivalent).
If you do not hold GCSE English or maths you may be able to take this along side the programe subject to a an initial assessment.

There will be a combination of multiple choice and written exams, portfolio work, interviews and practical assessments.
