London South Bank Technical College is proud to welcome the SoPHE PCE/YEN Annual Plumbing Competition 2025 to its Nine Elms campus this Friday, 20th June.

Organised by the Society of Public Health Engineers (SoPHE), this prestigious national competition brings together plumbing students and young engineers from across the country to put their skills to the test in a range of practical challenges. These include fault-finding, hand skills, and plumbing problem-solving—designed to bridge the gap between domestic and commercial installation work.

The event is part of SoPHE’s Plumbing Centre of Excellence initiative, which aims to enrich the education of future public health engineers. The initiative provides opportunities for enhanced technical learning, career development, and continuing professional development through hands-on activities and innovative training.

Students from London South Bank Technical College will be competing alongside SoPHE’s young engineers in front of leading figures from across the public health and engineering sectors.

The winners of the competition will be announced later this year at the 21st Anniversary SoPHE London Dinner, scheduled for November 2025.

Principal of London South Bank Technical College, Wayne Wright, shared his support:

“We are incredibly proud to be hosting this exciting industry event, and even prouder of the students who will be representing our college. It’s a fantastic opportunity to showcase their talents and develop their skills in a real-world setting. We wish them all the very best of luck.”

Staff and students are encouraged to support the event and help celebrate the valuable role that practical, technical education plays in preparing young people for successful careers in the plumbing and public health engineering sectors.
