How South Bank Colleges Students Are Shaping Their Futures at the STEAM Fair

At South Bank Colleges, student voice and curiosity sit at the heart of every learning experience and the recent STEAM Fair at London South Bank Technical College was a perfect example of this in action.

The event welcomed STEM Ambassadors and industry representatives onto campus, giving students the opportunity to explore future pathways through direct conversations with professionals from a range of sectors.

Student questions driving the conversation

Throughout the day, it was the students who led the conversations. With confidence and curiosity, they asked insightful questions that reflected a genuine interest in understanding careers, industries and real world experiences.

Why aluminium
How did you get into this
Were there any problems at testing
Do you have a business card
Is this engineering or manufacturing
Do you offer work experience
How is this made

These questions highlight more than curiosity. They show critical thinking, ambition and a desire to connect learning with future opportunities.

Bringing careers to life

By engaging directly with STEM Ambassadors, students were able to gain honest insights into different career journeys, the realities of working in industry and the diverse opportunities available within STEM related fields.
