Exclusive Trip to the Gordon Museum

Our Dental team recently took our full time Year 1 and part time Year 2 students on an exclusive visit to The Gordon Museum of Pathology — a rare opportunity that very few outside the medical and dental fields ever get.

Located at King's College London, The Gordon Museum is not open to the general public. Access is strictly limited to medical, dental, and biomedical students, which made our visit even more special. In fact, the museum typically books visits a year in advance, so we were extremely fortunate to be offered a slot.

The museum houses one of the largest and most significant collections of pathological specimens in the UK, offering students a powerful educational experience that cannot be replicated in a textbook or online. For our students, seeing real-life examples of conditions and anatomy provided a unique way to deepen their understanding of oral health and the wider medical context in which dentistry sits.

Students were given time to explore the exhibits at their own pace, supported by their tutors, who helped guide their learning and answer questions throughout. From rare diseases to complex cases, the museum’s collection sparked meaningful discussions and inspired a deeper curiosity for their chosen profession.

We are proud to offer these kinds of enriching experiences to our students, helping them grow both academically and professionally.
